There Is A Light

lyrics

From my window, to yours, there is a light
Illuminating our faces so bright
It is the moon, from whom we can no longer hide
Our love and our blushes; not tonight.

She knows our souls, our feelings and our fight
To have our love out, in open sight;
To have our feelings solemnised by rite;
A love which started with a simple date.

A date which took place so long ago
And when I saw you last, I just don't know;
But what I know is that I miss you so,
Even as sunrise calls and says we have to go.

***

They say that eyes are the windows of the soul;
They say that, once they meet and click, the rest's no more;
They say that love can travel across time and space,
Which seems true for the entire human race.

When our eyes first met, there was nought more to say;
I knew we'd love each other, come what may;
Alas; the world, as always, stands in our way;
For when I'll see you again, God only knows the day.

***

From my window, to yours, there is a heart
That beats as one for us, never apart;
Our thoughts with one another at this time
For I am ever yours, as you are mine.

And yes, our dates took place so long ago
And when I'll see you again, I just don't know;
But what I know is that I'll never go,
For nought will keep me away from this window

Whilst I'm loved so ... until we meet once more.
